Looks like she is credited as both Sorensen and Sorenson [1], so I'm creating a redirect from Sorensen. -Porlob 15:01, 18 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Her maiden name was Virginia Eggertsen, the third child of Claude and Helen (ElDeva) Eggertsen. She married Professor Frederick Sorensen, son of Emma (Baker) Sorensen. Every source I have found identifies him as Sorensen, not Sorenson. He was listed that way as a faculty member at Indiana State Teachers College in Terre Haute. More importantly, I have four of her books and have undertaken considerable additional research. As time permits, I will write a biographical sketch. All sources identify her as "Virginia Sorensen." See the Virginia Sorensen Archive, Department of Special Collections, Boston University Library, Boston, Mass. For those reasons, I propose that "Virginia Sorensen" be adopted as the primary spelling in this encyclopedia with "Virginia Sorenson" as an alternative, albeit incorrect, spelling.
